The International Tang Soo Do Federation™ is a authentic martial arts organization with specific standards and goals designed to help each student maximize potential as an individual as well as a martial artist. It requires and maintains strict guidelines in the operation of each member school. All certified instructors are required to attend frequent evaluation tests to assure the instruction you receive is of the highest possible standard and within the guidelines of the International Tang Soo Do Federation™ And its technical advisory board.

 


The Federation was founded by Choong Jae Nim (President and Founder) Master Chun Sik Kim in 1984. The goal in the formation of the International Tang Soo Do Federation™ was to maintain the high standards of authentic tang soo do. Teaching this martial art in its original form gave much needed roots to many thousands of Tang Soo Do practitioners world-wide. To achieve this goal, Choong Jae Nim Master Chun Sik Kim has dedicated a lifetime of training to create a standardization of instruction. With unending dedication, time and patience, Choong Jae Nim Master Chun Sik Kim has insured the continued peace and harmony of Traditional Tang Soo Do.

To All International Tang Soo Do FederationTM members, families, and friends,

 

It is with a sad and heavy heart I announce the recent passing of one of our dearest family member; Master Guillermo Rodriguez of Mexico.  Late Saturday night, Master Rodriguez was involved in an unfortunate accident which took away his life.  Master Rodriguez was the head instructor for Collima Mexico and was the General Secretary for the International Tang Soo Do FederationTM Mexico.  He was also recently nominated to the Technical Advisory Committee.  I, Bu Choong Jae Nim Vice-President Joe Goss Sr., General Secretary Master Joe Bruno, and Technical Advisory Committee Chairman Master Y.D. Kim send their deepest sympathies and condolences to Master Guillermo Rodriguez's family and students.  We all in the International Tang Soo Do FederationTM have truly lost a leader and inspiration throughout the federation.  Tang Soo Master Guillermo Rodriguez!!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM CHOONG JAE NIM

 AFTER 12TH INTERNATIONAL TANG SOO DO FEDERATION

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

 

As you know I have had over 70 national and international championships.  These championships make me nervous and excited. I am nervous because I like to see our authentic Tang Soo Do World championships make it better for everyone and make our families proud.  Why I am so excited, is because I am going to see many authentic Tang Soo Do families in Chicago.  I am very proud myself and all of my Sa Bom Nims.  They worked very hard with me yes.  Many people didn't work with me physically, but I believe in my heart, school owners and student's families worked with me spiritually.  I see that, and I feel that.  I was not expecting this wonderful, huge turnout for this World Championship.

 

From 2010-2012, your federation has doubled in size.  Because you believe me and your instructor.  This is a true authentic Tang Soo Do. Your federation can grow and grow.  I understand there are winners and losers, but authentic Tang Soo Do philosophy we are always family.  We keep learning and learning.  Through that we make sure we become better human beings.  I don't want you to have a big head because you won a medal, or let your spirit down becuase you lost.  I believe we are all winners. 

 

I cannot believe I am already are talking to myself about 13 world championships.  I like to believe this is the way of our learning and training to make it better.  Win or Lose, go to your school, be humble, and listen to your instructor.
